During the first quarter of fiscal year 2021, CLD continued actions towards the project’s objectives, also supporting efforts to mitigate the secondary impacts of COVID-19. Specifically, activities related to water, sanitation, hygiene and the mixed financing model for community water projects, AZURE, continued to support improvements to community water systems and services, improving conditions to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. Technical assistance and business development services for agricultural value chains and shared value initiatives supported by CLD allow micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) to strengthen their capacity to adapt and overcome the challenges and economic impact of COVID -19. Rural business activities supported households to generate income for more dignified and productive livelihoods and overcome the economic impact generated by COVID-19. In interactions with communities to support community-driven partnership and resource mobilization. CLD continued to incorporate key messages on safety and hygiene practices to protect communities against COVID-19.
